Reading Time: 3 minutes

Clash of the Cover Bands returned on E! for its newest episode that featured Slippery When Wet – the Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Covering Bon Jovi and Crazy Babies covering Ozzy Osbourne. These rock legend tributes absolutely rocked the stage with their bands’ iconic music.

This episode of Clash of the Cover Bands paid tribute to some of the biggest rock legends. Before moving on to the first round of the competition the judges shared that they’re specifically looking for people who aren’t afraid to be messy and basically do whatever they want on stage. As always the judges are voting based off of how much these bands look, sound and act like the tribute artists.

Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Covering Bon Jovi began their band 18 years ago and couldn’t wait to take the Clash of the Cover Bands stage. The lead singer formed the group and found all of the members. He was always into music, his yearbook even said he would be the lead singer of Bon Jovi! They currently work full time in their art. On top of performing full time, they got authorization by the actual band to perform their songs.

They came on to the stage singing the iconic Bon Jovi hit, “Livin’ on a Prayer.” Their acoustics were on point but on my end it felt like the lead singer was drowned out by his band. The judges noted that the group had a strongly polished act, but they decided to send the band to their vocal expert.

Ozzy Osbourne Tribute Looks Almost Identical From a Far

Crazy Babies covering Ozzy Osbourne is based out of Detroit, Michigan. The lead singer performed karaoke and there was a talent scout in the building. Since then he has been tributing Ozzy Osbourne with his group. Outside of the group two of the members own their own businesses. Unlike the Bon Jovi cover group, this band performs every other week.

The Ozzy Osbourne cover group stepped on to the stage with the iconic laugh by the lead singer. From the laugh, it was obvious that this group would also be seeing the vocal coach. I felt like the acoustics also drowned out the lead singer, but the instrumentals were honestly so good that I didn’t care. This is a really solid band. The judges commented on how they have Osbourne’s look, but ultimately decided to send them to the vocal expert as well.

From there both Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Covering Bon Jovi and Crazy Babies covering Ozzy Osbourne met with vocal coach Kuk Harrell. The vocal coach helped both lead singers and their bands sound more like their tributes. The groups walked back on stage with their new skills. Personally I felt both bands were more put together than their first performances.

The judges commented on how these groups stepped up their game. Not only did they implement what they learned from Harrell, they came back as polished rock groups. Adam Lambert considered them to be respectful tributes of their groups.

The judges announced Slippery When Wet – The Ultimate Bon Jovi Tribute Covering Bon Jovi as the winner of the episode. The Bon Jovi group is the ninth winner of Clash of the Cover bands. They are now going home with $10,000, a performance on The Jimmy Fallon Show, and the chance to compete to be crowned the ultimate cover band at the end of the season.

Next week, the series will air its last episode. Within the episode Elton John and Lady Gaga tributes face off head to head. On top of that the overall winner of the series will be announced.

Crazy Babies looked sounded had the moves and the gear of both Ozzy and Zakk I can’t believe they didn’t win. Slippery when wet was more of a cover band playing Bon Jovi songs than an actual tribute. This is worse than the Cher upset, I’m beginning to dislike this show especially the judges which I didn’t like to begin with.
