Actress and model Christie Brinkley was all set to compete on tonight’s Dancing With the Stars season premiere, but after a fall resulting in a broken arm requiring surgery over the weekend her dancing dreams have come to and end. But luckily, a replacement is all ready to go!
Chrisitie’s daughter and fellow model Sailor Brinkley-Cook was able to step in at the last minute to learn a routine for tonight’s episode. She will be taking Christie’s spot for the entirety of the competition. ABC and DWTS released the following statement on the matter this morning:
What Happened To Christie?
While rehearsing for the premiere of Dancing with the Stars, Christie Brinkley suffered injuries which required surgery to her wrist and arm. She is unable to continue her planned participation on the show,” ABC and BBC Studios confirmed in a statement. “Keeping it all in the family, her daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook, a Sports Illustrated model, has chosen to quickly step in with hours to learn the entire routine and will compete in her mother’s place for the remainder of the season. We wish Christie a full and speedy recovery and look forward to seeing her in the audience, whenever possible, proudly supporting Sailor.
How Will Christie Brinkley’s Daughter Sailor Brinkley-Cook Fair On Dancing With The Stars’?
Sailor Brinkley posted on her Instagram: “This has been a whirlwind of emotions but all I can say is wish me good luck”. She will definately need some luck jumping in the competition on such short notice.
We’re sad Christie is out and are sending her the best for a speedy recovery, but we’re also very curious as to how Sailor will fare in the ballroom tonight after having just two days to learn an entire routine.
We’ll find out when Dancing With the Stars Season 28 premieres tonight at 8/7 c on ABC.
