Briar Nolet auditioned for Canada’s Got Talent last year, sharing her experience being diagnosed with epilepsy before showing off an emotional dance routine. Now fans are discussing her potential new role on Dancing with the Stars.
Rumors of her involvement with Season 34 began earlier this month, when Australian Calisthenics Theatre Company posted on Facebook that Nolet’s participation in their EPIC Workshops in Melbourne was “postponed due to her new role with Dancing with the Stars.”
The Facebook post appears to have been edited to remove the reference to Nolet since it was first shared on August 5, but Parade quoted the original wording at the time. It’s not clear what Nolet’s “new role” is on the show, assuming this information is accurate. Will she be part of the pro cast, the troupe, or something else?
A fan on the DWTS subreddit also pointed to an Instagram post from WCE Dance Competitions in May, which listed “Dancing with the Stars (Guest Performer)” among Nolet’s experience, even though she’s never appeared on the show in the past.

Fans have shared their thoughts about Briar Nolet’s possible participation in DWTS Season 34 on Reddit. Earlier this month, one commenter wrote, “I really don’t like this decision at all. Here wo go again… casting a dancer that isn’t trained in Latin Ballroom for a Latin Ballroom show.”
The user went on to share that Nolet apparently took her first lesson in ballroom dancing “not even a year ago and she posted the process on TikTok with the goal to be a DWTS Pro.” They added, “I feel sorry for every dancer who truly dedicated their life to Latin Ballroom Dance.”
In a more recent post, fans expressed confusion over what Briar Nolet’s potential role in the new season might be, as well as questioning if the dancer is sharing information prematurely. As one user predicted, “her leaking and blabbing will absolutely get her fired before she even starts.”
DWTS Season 34 is scheduled to premiere on ABC and Disney+ on September 16. The full cast will reportedly be announced September 3 on Good Morning America.
