Brits Upset Over ‘Fifty Shades Freed’ Ad During ‘The Voice UK’
Reading Time: 1 minutes
One of the great things about both the UK and American version of The Voice is that it is a family friendly show. Kids can safely watch it with their parents and grannies. The most you are going to get is a cheeky comment from Adam Levine or something. But The Voice UK caused quite a stir that lead to much outrage and pearl clutching when they aired a trailer for BDSM mommy porn flick Fifty Shade Freed.
In case you aren’t familiar with the Fifty Shades franchise and successful book series, it’s about a sociopathic businessman who romances a naive girl through bondage and sadomasochism . In other words, not exactly kid friendly material, (but their moms love it). What they didn’t love was ITV showing the trailer during The Voice UK so their kids could see it. ITV got a lot of angry emails and calls calling for the network to not broadcast the trailer during a family show. Fair enough.
My problem is more on how absolutely terrible those Fifty Shades movies are. Who knew that a movie about kinky sexy could be so boring, inane, and non-sexy. Seriously, I dosed off twice and I hate every character in it and hope they die in a sex swing accident or something. Not the actors, the characters let me be clear.
