Britney Spears’ Memoir Was Reportedly Delayed Due to Concerns from Justin Timberlake
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Earlier this month, it was announced that Britney Spears would be releasing a tell-all memoir called The Woman in Me. The book is due to be released this October, but a new report claims the project was delayed by four months due to concerns from Spears’ exes.
Britney Spears’ Memoir Was Reportedly Delayed
According to The Sun, Spears’ exes Justin Timberlake and Colin Farrell caused a four-month delay in the book’s publication. The two stars apparently took issue with some of the stories Spears shared about her time with them.
Lawyers representing Timberlake and Farrell reportedly threatened to sue if Spears didn’t remove certain details about them. A source said the issues have “finally now been settled and her autobiography is all ready to go.”
“Lawyers demanded to see her book in advance and were adamant that some of the revelations were removed,” the source told The Sun. “There are still plenty of gobsmacking tales but Justin and Colin were conscious about what could be said about them.”
Spears dated Timberlake from 1999 to 2002. The two singers had met years before during their time on The Mickey Mouse Club. Spears briefly dated Farrell in 2003.

A Source Calls the Book ‘Incredibly Enlightening’
A second source told The Sun that Spears’ memoir is “brilliant and heartfelt,” adding that it “has given Britney the chance to tell her own story.” They said the book “will be incredibly enlightening for her fans.”
Recently, Spears made a comeback to the music scene with the release of her new single with Will.i.am, titled “Mind Your Business.” It’s the pair’s first collaboration in over 10 years, following up their 2012 track “Scream & Shout.”
Spears’ memoir The Woman in Me is due to be released on October 24. The book is available for fans to pre-order now.
