Britain’s Got Talent is set to start filming auditions for Series 17 later this month. The show’s judges — Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli — will be returning to the show, along with hosts Ant & Dec.

BGT Series 17 to Start Filming This Month

Auditions for Series 17 will start filming auditions later this month at the London Palladium, and fans can request tickets to attend. Two tapings — on January 24 and January 25 — are already fully booked. However, other tapings on those days are still available as of this writing.

Tickets are available to people aged 12 and up. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are sent at random to those who request them, so if you don’t receive an e-ticket 24 hours before the taping, you haven’t been successful.

A premiere date has not yet been announced for the new competition, but BGT tends to premiere in April. As of this writing, in-person auditions have closed, but hopeful acts can still apply virtually to be considered. You can also nominate an act.

Who Won Series 16 of the Show?

Last year, BGT premiered Series 16, with new judge Bruno Tonioli replacing David Walliams. Tonioli and Cowell played fast and loose with the rules, resulting in a whopping eight Golden Buzzer auditions during the competition.

At the end of the season, comedian Viggo Venn was announced as the winner, with young dancer Lillianna Clifton coming in second place. Venn’s win caused some backlash from viewers who thought the act was too silly to earn the top prize.

In an interview after his victory, Venn (who is from Norway) admitted, “I was kind of hoping that I [wouldn’t] win, because it’d be so embarrassing. But, I was really happy when they said it.”
