Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess win 'Dancing With The Stars', Tom Bergeron on 'Dancing With The Stars' 20th Anniversary special.

Dancing with the Stars Season 27 winner Bobby Bones has decided he wants his Mirrorball trophy back. Bones mailed the trophy back to ABC last year following negative comments about his win from the show’s former host Tom Bergeron.

Bobby Bones Wants His DWTS Trophy Back

Bobby Bones and his partner Sharna Burgess won Season 27 of DWTS in 2018, despite consistently earning lower scores than their fellow finalists. Last year, former host Tom Bergeron said Bones’ win was the “thing that shocked me most” during his time on the show.

Bones responded to Bergeron’s comments, calling them “hurtful” and adding that he had “sent the trophy back to ABC.” As he said, “They don’t want me to be a part of the show, obviously. So I don’t want to be somewhere that doesn’t want me to be there.”

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Bones said he hopes to get the trophy back, explaining that when he sent it to ABC, he had just undergone surgery and was “probably not my best.”

“I got my feelings hurt. And so, since that time, when I had my feelings hurt by Tom Bergeron, we’ve talked, and we’re great again,” Bones added. “I love Tom, and so, in a haste, I sent my trophy back to somewhere at ABC. I do not know where the trophy is. I like that trophy. If anybody’s watching this that has my Mirrorball trophy, please mail it back to me. I would love to have it back.”

Bones Has Since Made Up with Bergeron

After Bones called Bergeron’s comments about his win “hurtful,” Bergeron apologized on Bones’ podcast, saying, “I felt terrible that the way I phrased my honest surprise at your win. I think the question to me was, ‘What’s the most shocking elimination?’ I couldn’t remember a shocking elimination. And I wish I had said, ‘Well, this wasn’t a shock, but it was a surprise when Bobby Bones won.’”

Bones shared that Bergeron reached out to him via direct message, and they went on to set up Bergeron’s March podcast appearance so they could bury the hatchet.

“He came on, and the first thing that I said was, ‘Hey, man, why do you hate me now?’” Bones told Us Weekly. “And I think just saying that early kind of made us both go like, ‘OK, we’re good.’ We talked it out. He apologized, and then I apologized for making him apologize. We cried. It was really great.”
