Blake Shelton Loses ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ Crown To Idris Elba

It’s a sad day for Blake Shelton fans everywhere. The Voice coach and country superstar is no longer the sexiest man alive. We all knew it was coming, but now that it’s here we weren’t prepared. People Magazine, who publishes the Sexiest Man every year, has picked actor Idris Elba as the embodiment of male sexuality. Hard to argue with that.
Last year, when Blake was named the sexiest man alive, a lot of people took umbrage about it. They said that Blake, a middle-aged White Southern dude with a dad body, was not the sexiest man alive. In fact, many people took to social media to discuss their outrage. Some even mentioned that Idris should have been picked last year.

Now, those are kind of harsh. There isn’t just one way to be sexy. Blake is sexy in a very different way to Idris Elba. Idris is classically handsome and exudes a raw masculine energy that is kind of irresistible. That’s why his fans have been campaigning for him to be the next James Bond. I wholeheartedly agree that he would make an amazing Bond. Listen, I’m a straight man and I will tell you right now that it is imperatively a fact that Idris Elba is a sexy dude.
Blake’s sexual charisma is different. Yes, he’s isn’t as muscular as Idris or thin and lithe like Adam Levine. But that’s OK. He’s confident, he’s kind, he’s intelligent, as well as rich and famous. He’s also got that down home, “Aw shucks, mam” thing that’s very sexy. Also, let’s not forget, that this country dude with the dad body managed to get Gwen Stefani to fall in love with him. Could a non sexy man do that? Last year when People announced that they had picked him, we went to Times Square and asked people what they thought. What do you think out there in Talent Recap land?
