In a clip from Tuesday’s Eurovision Semi-final, Dixon wore a pink and red gown while standing in the crowd performing a rap about the Song Contest’s history. For example, she pointed out that last year’s champions Kalush (from Ukraine) were the first rap group to win.
“Raise your pink bucket hats in the air / Got a Eurovision story that I really wanna share,” Dixon rapped. “Listen, Liverpool, let me hit you with the facts / And talk you some really iconic acts.”
Dixon went on to mention such acts as Malena Ernman, mother of climate activist Greta Thunberg, who competed in Eurovision in 2009, representing Sweden and finishing in 21st place. She also brought up singer Valentina Monetta, who has represented San Marino four times.
“Our souls reunite, we’re ready for a show,” Dixon rapped at the end. “United by music, so Eurovision, let’s go!”

Fans Shared Their Love for Dixon’s Rap Performance
The official BBC Eurovision TikTok account posted a video of Dixon’s performance, sparking positive comments from several fans who enjoyed watching the BGT judge rap. Dixon is known for her time in the girl group Mis-Teeq.
“I love when Alesha raps,” wrote one commenter. The performance also drew some comparisons to Ariana DeBose, who got social media talking with her rap honoring female BAFTA nominees back in February.
As one commenter wrote of Dixon’s performance, “Ariana DeBose really caused an impact.” Another user even jokingly referenced DeBose’s line about Angela Bassett, writing, “Alesha Dixon did the thing!”
Dixon isn’t taking her performance too seriously. She posted a clip on Instagram Wednesday and wrote, “Well that was silly & a bit random!”
