Dancing with the Stars pro Artem Chigvintsev has announced his return to the ballroom after missing this week’s show due to COVID. He and his celebrity partner Charity Lawson are back to rehearsing for next week’s Motown Night.
Artem Chigvintsev Returns to DWTS Ballroom After COVID
Last week, it was announced that Chigvintsev had tested positive for COVID-19 and therefore would not be dancing the Cha Cha with Lawson for Latin Night. Lawson ended up dancing with Ezra Sosa, earning a score of 21 out of 30.
On Thursday, Chigvintsev posted a video update to social media showing that he and Lawson have been reunited. The dancer said they’ve “been rehearsing.” Lawson teased that this will be “a big week” coming up.
Chigvintsev said they have to “come back from three 7s” last week. That score was one point lower than the score for their Tango on premiere night. Thankfully, viewers voted them into the next round, so they have another chance to prove themselves.
The pair was secretive about their next dance, but the show has revealed that they will be dancing a Foxtrot to “My Girl” by The Temptations. Chigvintsev also teased that Lawson’s father will be giving them “a little help.”
Lawson Thanked Sosa After Their Performance
This week’s Latin Night performance marked Ezra Sosa’s debut as a pro in the DWTS ballroom, having previously performed as part of the show’s troupe. After Tuesday’s performance, Lawson took to Instagram to give him the “biggest shoutout.”
“The love and respect I have for you as a dancer & person is out of this world, and I can’t thank you enough for stepping in, and making me feel so alive,” Lawson wrote. “I had so much fun doing this dance with you. Isn’t it a good thing you are stuck with me forever?!”
