Angelica Hale was only ten-years-old at the time of her America’s Got Talent audition and has gone on to do great things since. This AGT season 12 singer’s performance is now on the ballot for the 64th Grammy Awards. Although this song has not been nominated for a Grammy Award yet, it could be in the near future.

Writers Ryan Shore, Elizabeth Russo Promote ‘Looking Up’

Award-winning Elizabeth Russo and two time Grammy Nominated songwriter and composer Ryan Shore wrote “Looking Up” for World Woman Foundation’s film: World Women Hour. World Woman Hour is a collection of stories and songs created for National Girl’s Day. The film featured 60 presenters sharing their stories. Angelica’s segment talked about the illness she had early in her life, and how she began her singing career at such a young age. She then goes on to sing an uplifting song about looking up for inspiration in life.

There are big things ahead for these songwriters with their possible Grammy Award Nomination. Their song is on the ballot for Best Song Written for Visual Media. “Looking Up” has already received bronze for The Telly Awards in 2021.

What’s the Grammy Award Process?

As of right now, the Grammy Awards are in first round voting. During this round, Grammy voters listen to provided songs and vote on which are the best. The songs with the most votes are the ones that will receive a nomination. Unfortunately, being on the ballot list doesn’t automatically ensure a nomination. This round of voting is open from October 22 to November 5. After first round voting concludes, the official Grammy Award nominations announcement will take place on November 23.

This Grammy Award would go directly to the writers of this song, not the performer. This possible nomination still benefits Angelica in the long run, her name will gain more exposure. Ever since we saw this ten-year-old singer on the America’s Got Talent we knew she’d be a star. This is truly only the beginning, it’s a matter of time until she receives her first nomination of her own.

Angelica definitely one of the biggest names to come out of the Got Talent franchise, and she didn’t even win! At only 14 years-old she has a global singing career, over 1.1 million followers on Instagram, and over 2.7 million subscribers on YouTube. The sky is truly the limit for this powerhouse vocalist.
