American Idol alum Louis Knight dropped a music video for an unreleased song called “Burn This All Down” on March 21. The music video features the singer burning multiple things including a Grand Piano.

Knight is back creating heartfelt original music once again. “Burn This All Down” seems to be about an artist’s journey in the music industry. The lyrics mentions that the industry messes when self esteem while the art used to be a form of therapy. Then, the tale includes the singer giving up on his dream and setting his grand piano on fire. The chorus of “maybe I should just burn this all down” seems to be related to ending of his relationship with music.

This singer made this video with film director Danny Gevirtz, whom he’s made videos with for the past six years. I think the music video itself compliments the song extremely well. The video itself begins with Knight sitting in front of a window with pieces of paper around the chair. The disheveled feeling is perfect for the overall beginning of the tune.

I think the most impressive part of this video is the visuals captured of the fire. Not only is the piano on fire, Knight’s reactions are clearly seen as something he loves is being destroyed in front of him. “Burn This All Down” is extremely catchy, so I can’t wait to see it released to streaming in the near future.

Louis Knight’s History on American Idol

He originally appeared on American Idol season 18 where he finished in the Top 7. Knight immediately caught the attention of the judges when he sang an original song titled “Change” in his audition. He got three yeses from the judges and continued on in the competition.

This singer was projected to be in the Top 20 by the judges of the competition early on but was eliminated in the Top 7 after singing”Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John and “You’ve Got a Friend” by Carole King. He was eliminated in that round alongside Julia Gargano.

In season 19, he returned to American Idol during The Comeback. Even though he premiered the same great vocals, he did not receive enough votes to land in the Top 10.

To this day he still shares gratitude for the series on both Instagram and TikTok. He is active on all social media forms to this day, including YouTube. Recently, the singer shared that he has new music on the way within his Instagram stories.

“It’s a tuesday evening and I’m just popping on here to say you have no idea how quickly and how much music is about to come out,” Knight said before beginning to joke. “It’s all a secret so actually nothing is coming out, you’re not gonna hear any of my music ever again.”

In a later Instagram story he confirmed that music is actually on the way. When this singer isn’t making music of his own, he’s sharing cover songs on social media. His American Idol audition song, “Change” is still regarded as his most influential song to date. In 2022 this singer has a loyal fanbase who cannot wait to hear his original music.
