Reading Time: 3 minutes
Lauren Alaina, season 10 runner up of American Idol and Dancing With The Stars alum, shared a photo of her holding a gold record on her Instagram. Her team surprised her with four gold records before her performance at Grand Ole Opry on July 20.
In the photo, Alaina is holding a plaque signifying that her 2020 single is now a certified as gold by The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). “Getting Good” is one of four gold records, she is seen beaming in this photo.
Gold records for her other singles, “Road Less Travelled,” “Doing Fine,” and “Like My Mother Does” were also awarded to her at Grand Ole Opry, but were not shown in this photo.
“My team surprised me with FOUR gold records. This achievement as a female in country music is such an honor,” said Alaina on Instagram. “Thank you to my fans for listening and buying the music I pour my heart into. These gold records are just as much yours as they are mine.”
Her gold records just go to show that even the runners up of talent shows, can still lead a very successful career!
She has had a whirlwind of a career since auditioning for American Idol at 15-years-old. It’s been 10 years since her audition, and she has gained so much popularity in the music industry. She is dominating the competition!
She has 971,000 followers on Instagram, has collaborated with some other big names in country music, and now has four golden records. And, those four gold records do not count her collaborations with other country artists like Kane Brown, HARDY, and more. They are all for her singles. She has also has had 17 award nominations related to her music/writing, and has won 8 times since 2012.
55 Certified Country Gold Records in the Past 2 Years, 4 have been awarded to Alaina
The second photo in Alaina’s gallery is a photo of her and her manager. Her manager, Trisha Mcclanahan also posted about the occasion. She posted the same photo of the two of them, and had some really great things to say about Alaina.
Mcclanahan also only posted about Alaina’s single “Getting Good” within her Instagram post. She did not show off the other golden records within her post either. Instead, she specifically talked about who wrote “Getting Good.”
“Of the 55 certified country gold records in the last 2 years, 4 of those belong to Lauren Alaina songs – more if you count her collaborations,” said Mcclanahan. “This one is so special, written exclusively by our friend @emilyweisband and made magic by @laurenalaina I am grateful. Golden moments for sure.”
This is seriously such a huge accomplishment in the world of country music. It’s crazy that the RIAA has only awarded 55 golden records in the past two years and four of them are Alaina’s singles. The four singles were certified gold on June 3, 2021, and were hoping to see pictures of the other three plaques in the near future!
