‘American Idol’s Lauren Alaina Chats with Her Idol Dolly Parton in Sweet Interview

American Idol Season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina got the chance to talk with her idol Dolly Parton in a new interview on The Kelleigh Bannen Show on Apple Music. Parton blushed over Parton’s sweet words comparing their careers.
Lauren Alaina Talks to Dolly Parton in Cute Interview
Alaina started things off by thanking Parton for making a video supporting Alaina’s induction into the Grand Ole Opry earlier this year. Alaina called the membership her biggest accomplishment, and she asked Parton to share a proud moment of her own.
Parton said her own induction into the Grand Ole Opry was “one of the greatest things that’s ever been in my career.” She went on to tell Alaina that they “have a lot in common,” as they both grew up dreaming of being on the Grand Ole Opry.
Alaina couldn’t stop smiling, saying, “Dolly Parton just said we have a lot in common.”
Parton confirmed that they did, although she told Alaina, “You dance, and I don’t.” She added later that it was an honor to sit with women like Alaina and her fellow guests (also including Tiera and Callie Twisselman) and witness their “beauty and talent and goodness.”

Alaina Is a Huge Fan of Parton
Alaina has made no secret of how much she admires Parton. Just last Halloween, she recreated the legendary singer’s Playboy cover from 1978. “When I Dolly Parton I don’t play, boy. I NINE to THRIVE,” she wrote in the caption on Instagram.
Earlier this year, Alaina also shared in an interview that she “would love to do a movie about Dolly Parton and get to play her.” She added that she might have to “get a boob job or something.” However, she said Parton is “the only person in the world I’d get a boob job for.”
In a 2020 home tour, Alaina also shared that she has a piece of art depicting Parton on the wall of her living room. She called Parton her “favorite artist of all time, by far.”
