‘American Idol’s Grace Kinstler Releases Powerful New Song ‘Pray For You’

American Idol Season 19 finalist Grace Kinstler has released a new song called “Pray For You.” It’s a powerhouse ballad that shows off Grace’s amazing voice. She shared insight into the song’s meaning on Instagram.

“I don’t know if I believe in God, but I can’t deny / I will still pray for you,” Grace sings on the new track, before launching into the soaring chorus, singing, “If the sky came crashing down / I’d hold your hand while it’s falling / If I’m six feet underground / I’d still be there when you’re calling.”
Grace shared on Instagram that she co-wrote the song with Gray Hawken, who also produced it. She also revealed that the song was inspired by the “pure, unconditional love” she witnessed between her parents growing up.
The singer added that she realized she’s found someone “who will weather those storms of change.” She added the comment “hi joe,” referring to her boyfriend Joseph Wheatley. Grace shared that Joe flew home with her as soon as she found out her father passed away in 2020.

What Has Grace Been Up to Since American Idol?
Grace finished American Idol in third place last year. As part of her time on the show, she released a single called “Love Someone.” She later followed that up with the single “Breaking Myself” earlier this year, as well as an acoustic version.
The singer returned alongside Season 19 runner-up Willie Spence during the talent show’s 20th anniversary reunion special earlier this year, singing “What They’ll Say About Us” by Finneas. The singer also frequently posts song covers on Instagram and TikTok.
Jimmie Allen teased last month that he and Grace were working on a song together called “What You Been Through.” Allen posted another snippet on Instagram at the beginning of August. Hopefully we’ll get to hear the whole song soon.
