‘American Idol’ Winner Phillip Phillips Releases New Song, Music Video ‘Love Like That’

American Idol Season 11 winner Phillip Phillips returned to the show on Sunday night to perform his new single “Love Like That.” It’s his first song in four years, and he recently released a music video to go with it, showing his relationship with wife Hannah Blackwell.

Phillips wrote on Instagram that he’s “proud and excited” to debut this new song, adding, “It is the most personal look into my life the last four years and maybe ever. Let’s all lean into a love like that and keep rockin.”
“Sure as every breath that you breathe / Every beat is like a heart attack,” he sings on the feel-good acoustic track. “You and me, we’ve got a love like that.”
The music video shows the singer and his wife Hannah driving down the road in a pickup truck. The clips are interspersed with home movies of the couple throughout their relationship, including their engagement and wedding.
Eventually, the video shows footage from Hannah’s pregnancy and the birth of their son Patch, who was born in 2019. The video ends with them driving the truck into the woods. Phillips lifts patch out of the truck as the family heads out for a walk.

What Has the Singer Been Up to Since Winning ‘American Idol’?
Phillips’ American Idol coronation song “Home” was a massive success. It was included on his debut album The World from the Side of the Moon, which was on the Billboard Top 200 album chart for 61 weeks.
The singer followed that up with the albums Behind the Light in 2014 and Collateral in 2018. He’s also toured with artists such as John Mayer, Gavin DeGraw, and the Goo Goo Dolls. Now 31, Phillips is making a comeback.
In addition to performing on Idol this season, he also surprised contestant Fritz Hager with a message. Fritz is a huge fan of the singer, saying Phillips inspired him to play guitar. Fritz is now in the Top 20.
