AJ McLean, Wife Rochelle Announce They’re Getting Divorced

Backstreet Boys star AJ McLean has announced that he and his wife Rochelle are getting divorced after 12 years of marriage. McLean posted the news in a joint statement on his Instagram Monday. The couple had previously shared that they were separated.

“As you all know we have been separated for over a year now,” the couple wrote in Monday’s statement. “While we have hoped for reconciliation we have decided to officially end our marriage. It is with deep love and respect that we have made this decision.”
The statement goes on to read that they are focused on “moving forward in the healthiest possible way.” That includes remaining friends and co-parenting their two daughters, Elliott and Lyric. They asked fans to please respect their privacy.
The news isn’t a total shock, as the couple had previously announced their separation in March of last year. At the time, they said the separation was temporary, as they focused on working on themselves and their marriage, “with the hope of building a stronger future.”
The pair tied the knot in 2011 with a wedding at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California. McLean’s Backstreet Boys group mates were in attendance for the nuptials.

McLean Calls 2023 a ‘Year of Reflection’
Before sharing the news that he and his wife were getting divorced, McLean posted his thoughts on 2023 with the new year ahead. McLean called it “a year of reflection and growth,” adding a photo of himself looking in the mirror.
“I am walking into 2024 with gratitude and love in my heart and hopefulness!” McLean continued in the post’s caption. “Happy new year to you all and stay safe out there!”
Toward the end of the year, McLean made a surprise appearance on Dancing with the Stars Season 32 as the dancers prepared a routine set to “Everybody” by the Backstreet Boys. McLean competed on Season 29 of the show, dancing with Cheryl Burke.
