Have you ever thought “I wonder what escape artists buy on their shopping trip?” Me neither. Thanks to America’s Got Talent contestant, Matt Johnson, we now know exactly what escape artists buy in preparation for a performance.

After Johnson’s terrifying AGT audition, Johnson has decided to give everyone a quick peek at what he might be using in the next round of the competition.

“Happy monday did you want to know what an escape artist buys when he goes to Canadian tire?” said Johnson as he chuckles in his Instagram video. “28 feet of chain, let’s get this day started.”

This funny video of Johnson provided fans with some insight on what it’s like to be an escape artist preparing for a show. It’s never just planning the act, you have to buy everything that goes along with it too. This video shows that Johnson is so much more than an escape artist, he’s a bit of a comedian too.

Johnson Nearly Died During ‘AGT’ Audition

Although we’re excited to see what else Johnson has to bring to the AGT stage, we’re also terrified. The 47-year-old took the AGT stage during his audition to escape for the first time since his wife asked him to stop performing.

I don’t know about you, but I was terrified watching the water fill past the first line. He really did bring his A-game during his audition. Although this season will be skipping the judge cuts, we can’t wait to see what else is in store for Johnson. We hope he’ll have a chance to perform during the live auditions in August.
