‘AGT’ Results: Wildcard Revealed as Last Acts Are Added to the Finals
Reading Time: 2 minutes
America’s Got Talent Season 17 returned Wednesday night for the fifth live results show of the season. At the end of the night, the Mayyas and Kristy Sellars were announced to be moving on to next week’s Finals thanks to America’s vote.
Wednesday’s results show also featured a live wildcard vote, as viewers chose an eliminated act to compete in the finale. Each judge nominated one act for the spot, and the viewers voted to bring back Celia Muñoz.
Two Acts Move on in ‘AGT’ Results Show
During the results show, AGT host Terry Crews announced that the Top 5 acts from Tuesday night’s show were Kristen Cruz, Kristy Sellars, Urbancrew, the Mayyas, and Mervant Vera. That was narrowed down to the Top 3, which included Kristy, the Mayyas, and Mervant.
The Mayyas and Kristy Sellars were chosen to move on to the finals, which means we had to say goodbye to Mervant, Kristen, Urbancrew, Aubrey Burchell, Travis Japan, Blade 2 Blade, Shu Takada, Max Ostler, and Jordan Conley.
Although Travis Japan was eliminated, judge Howie Mandel took a moment at the start of the show to address his choice to buzz them during Tuesday’s show. He shared a message in Japanese which translated to, “People of Japan, I love you.”
Celia Muñoz Chosen as Wildcard in Instant Save
During Wednesday’s show, the judges each nominated one act to be considered for the wildcard save. Simon Cowell chose the Players Choir, Sofia Vergara chose Celia Muñoz, Heidi Klum chose Lily Meola, and Howie Mandel chose Don McMillan.
Viewers at home had five minutes to vote for which act they wanted to send to the Finals. At the end of the night, Crews announced that the winner of the wildcard spot was Celia Muñoz. She’ll be competing in next week’s Finals.
This week’s results added some unique acts to the finale. The Mayyas and Kristy Sellars are the only dance acts in the Finals, and Celia is the only ventriloquist. It’s shaping up to be an amazing finale next week. Let us know in the comments who you’re rooting for.
I was so disappointed that Urban Crew didn’t go through with The Mayyas; not that Kristy Sellars didn’t deserve it, too (she was my 3rd choice). I’m not a fan of the new elimination process with 9 acts being kicked to the curb each week, that’s just so out of whack! Who the heck thought that up, Simon? I do hope that The Mayyas win!!!!
I can’t believe the guy who wrapped and did magic at the same time didn’t go through.
