America’s Got Talent Season 21 returned on Tuesday night for yet another round of auditions, as judge Sofia Vergara pressed her second Golden Buzzer of the season for an incredible aerial act. However, the AGT panel was divided over a number of auditions in this week’s episode.

AGT Returns as Sofia Vergara Presses Golden Buzzer

During Tuesday night’s new episode of AGT Season 21, a Ukrainian performer named Veronika Goroshkova showed off an impressive routine on an aerial pole. She swung high over the judges’ heads without a harness or net.

The judges were blown away by Veronika’s routine, with Simon Cowell calling it “perfection” and a “gold medal performance.” Sofia Vergara faked everyone out by seeming unsure about the audition, before surprising everyone by pressing the Golden Buzzer to send Veronika straight into the live shows.

Another performer who wowed the judges during Monday’s show was singer Ashford Sanders, who took the stage to deliver an emotional rendition of “What Was I Made For?” by Billie Eilish. Cowell called him a “gifted, brilliant singer,” while Vergara said, “This is where you belong. He earned four “yes” votes to move on.

The panel was also impressed by a music group called Butter & Grit, who performed an original song. Mel B said she wanted to be friends with them, telling them they “brought the fun.” Although Cowell joked that the song sounded like a commercial for Cracker Barrel, he still voted “yes” along with his fellow judges.

The Judges Were Divided on Several Acts

Very few acts during this week’s new AGT episode earned unanimous “yes” votes from the judges. It all started with a Japanese performer called Yukuta, whose silly routine with a drawing of Simon Cowell got a laugh out of everyone but Mel B, who buzzed the act.

Mel B also wasn’t wowed by impressionist Cameron Logsdon, who imitated everyone from Jason Statham to Jennifer Coolidge; or opera-singing ventriloquist couple Naima & Danielle; or singer Jesse Joe and his band, who were “out of tune” to her. All of these acts earned three “yes” votes to move on despite Mel’s critiques.

Howie Mandel also responded negatively to a few acts during Tuesday’s show. That includes singer Elsie, whose original song failed to impress him. He also criticized magician Joel M, saying his routine went on for too long. Mandel also wasn’t especially impressed by dance group Elektro Dads. Still, all of these acts earned “yes” votes from the other three judges.
