America’s Got Talent has officially wrapped up season 20 auditions. During Tuesday night’s episode, the show finished auditions and announced the 44 acts going into the live shows. Here’s the highlights of the episode.
AGT Judges Love Husband-Wife Comedians
The Osso Brothers and B Unique Crew were the first acts of the night to impress. AGT super fans were able to see their auditions early via the show’s YouTube channel.
Later in the episode, comedian Matt O’Brien took the stage. The comedian’s act was quick, but included him joking about how hard dating is in 2025. The act got the judges laughing, they all voted yes for Matt.
Following Matt was another comedian, his wife, Julia Hladkowicz. She quickly admitted that she was married to Matt before joking on stage about her relationship. She joked about his snoring, saying that he has snored more each year of their marriage. Judges and audience gave Julia a standing ovation.
After the comedians, dance group Fruit Smash impressed with a routine to “Spice Up Your Life” by The Spice Girls. All of the judges except Simon Cowell liked this performance. Following suit, dancer Alex Blanchard took the stage. The Liverpool based dancer was praised for her athletic performance.
Opera Singer SHOCKS Judges
The final act of the night was Got Talent alum Avalon Penrose. The singer took the stage, explaining that she was an opera singer, until she began having panic attacks on stage. The moment was totally set, for the not-so-serious act. Avalon began singing, and two men came out, splattering paint and confetti on Avalon. At the end, Mel B hit the red buzzer for the act.
“She ruined something beautiful,” Sofia Vergara said right after the audition.
Avalon then admitted to the judges that she chooses to perform in this fashion to help her anxiety. She then went on to sing a second song. This time, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel were the two men throwing paint and confetti at her.
This performance wrapped up the auditions for the season, in a somewhat messy way. Cowell and Mandel threw paint and confetti all over Vergara and Mel B, as well as the host, Crews. Avalon ultimately earned four yeses.
Following the final audition, host Terry Crews announced the Top 44 acts continuing on into the Live Shows. America’s Got Talent will return to NBC on Tuesday, August 19 to celebrate their twentieth year on tv.
