During Wednesday Night’s Quarterfinal Results show, host Terry Crews announced a wild turn of events. One of the show’s anticipated semifinalists withdrew from the competition. While discussing the show’s upcoming semifinalists, Crews acknowledged that one act is missing.
Mastermind Withdraws from America’s Got Talent 2025
Ahead of the Top 3 of Quarterfinals four being announced, Crews shared the names of the acts continuing into next week’s Semifinals. In case you missed it, you can look forward to seeing Jourdan Blue, Lightwire, Sirca Marea, Bay Melnick Virgolino, Leo High School Choir, Unreal, Chris Turner, and Jessica Sanchez.
“Now you might have noticed that Mastermind was not there,” the host said. “Sadly, he’s had to withdraw due to personal reasons. We wish him all the best.”
Following the announcement, Mastermind shared a note to fans via Instagram.
“Due to personal reasons, I won’t be continuing in the competition,” the magician wrote. “I want to thank the incredible AGT Crew–the hardest working people in television, The passion, care, and long hours they put in is nothing short of inspiring, and I’m in awe of what they create.”
The magician then went on to thank every fan that has been supportive of their journey.
“To every fan who voted reposted, or sent kind words–you have no idea how much that love has meant,” they wrote. “My last act was about connection and love, that begins with how we care for ourselves and those closest to us. Season 20 is truly the best yet. I’m deeply honored to have been a small part of it, and grateful to all of you for sharing in this journey with me.”
The magician’s identity has not been revealed at this time, though many fans think it is Colin Cloud. America’s Got Talent has not yet released a statement about whether Mastermind will be replaced in the Semifinals/finale. At this time, fans should expect to see one less person overall for the rest of the competition.
The Magician Impressed in Both Audition, Quarterfinals
This magician first took the AGT stage earlier this season with a mind-blowing act that combined AI and magic. The audition, which featured the magician scaring audience members and judges while making Howie Mandel’s phone unlock, open the camera app, and even control Simon Cowell’s glasses.
The incredible act then featured audience members sharing a word, that would eventually be generated by Howie Mandel’s ChatGPT. Mandel even said “that is truly spectacular, scary, amazing” after the audition.
Mastermind returned to the AGT stage during quarterfinal three when he performed yet another AI based magic act. This act featured the magician using judges’ phone and audience thoughts for another set of AI based magic tricks. Once again, audience and the judges were amazed at his abilities. Mastermind was voted into the semifinals by AGT fans before withdrawing.
