‘AGT: Extreme’ to Resume Taping After Jonathan Goodwin Accident
America’s Got Talent: Extreme is set to start taping again in 2022, after production was paused in October following contestant Jonathan Goodwin’s on-set accident. Simon Cowell, Nikki Bella, and Travis Pastrana will return to the judging table for the spin-off show.
‘AGT: Extreme’ to Resume Taping in January 2022
Daredevil Jonathan Goodwin, who has appeared on both AGT and BGT in the past, suffered a severe accident during filming of the new show in October. He had to be airlifted to the hospital, and production on the remainder of the season was paused.
Production is set to start up again in January, this time in a new location. In the fall, the series filmed at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. However, the January tapings will take place at Irwindale Speedway in California.
Because of the epic and even dangerous nature of many of the acts featured on the series, production isn’t possible in the usual theater setting. Tapings will take place between January 5 and January 13, 2022. Attendees must be at least 12 years old.

Tickets for the Tapings Will Be Available Soon
AGT host Terry Crews is returning to emcee the new spin-off show. Simon Cowell will also have a seat at the judges’ table along with former WWE star Nikki Bella and X Games gold medalist Travis Pastrana.
Although there is not yet an official premiere date for AGT: Extreme, Frances Berwick of NBCUniversal recently said that producers anticipate the show will air on Sunday nights midseason.
“We have an investigation ongoing into what actually happened but we do anticipate the show coming back in midseason,” Berwick said. “We have a lot of safety protocols in place and we have to conclude the investigation but we have certainly paused production for the time being.”
Tickets for the upcoming California tapings are free and will be available soon. You can sign up to be notified when they become available.
