Reading Time: 4 minutes

AGT: Extreme definitely planned their most extreme acts for episode two. Fans saw cage riders, bmx riders, a tightrope walker, and more. This episode also aired Terry Crews’s Golden Buzzer group, Alfredo Silva’s cage riders.

The second episode began in the most extreme way possible. The bmx group Contraption Kings took to the stage first. The five person group introduced themselves by explaining that they are apart of Travis Pastrana’s traveling troupe, Nitro Circus. Before they took to the stage, the group talked about how they would end up in the hospital if things went wrong on the show today.

Pastrana shared that he would not be voting since he has a personal relation with these contestants. Instead of doing a traditional bmx audition, the group rode down a ramp on things like a jetskis, tricycles, reclining chairs, and more. This audition was so exciting because it was like nothing else. It’s not everyday you see a grown man travelling down a ramp on a jetski. Simon Cowell said that they were genuinely one of his favorite acts, they are continuing in the competition.

AGT: Extreme Saw The Most Wild Talents Yet

This episode aligned with my understanding of what AGT: Extreme was trying to accomplish. Almost everyone on tonight’s episode was some type of daredevil performer. Each act had me jaw dropped in one way or another. My three favorites of the night were Jade Kindar-Martin, The Flying Royals, and Danny ZZZZ.

Jade Kindar-Martin was by far the most terrifying act. Jade is a tight rope walker that has been performing since he was 14 years old. He shares the Guinness World Record for longest high-wire walker with 18 other performers. For his audition, he walked a tightrope that was lit on fire. He had pride in the fact that there was no net underneath him. He made it across in one direction, then biked back on the lit rope. The tricks that he did on the tightrope left me absolutely speechless. The judges gave him three yeses, he will continue on in the compeition.

Escape Artist Fools Audience into Thinking He Messed Up

The Flying Royals is the only criss crossing trapeze act in the world. The eight troop members have lived and worked together for several years. Their performance was so intricate. The four trapeze artists would fly toward each other in perfect rhythm to just miss one another. Cowell gave the group a no in the end, he thought their matching outfits made them lack personality. Even with Cowell’s criticism, The Flying Royals will continue on in the compeition.

Danny ZZZZ took to the stage as the first hypnotist, illusionist, and escape artist on the series so far. In his origin story, he shared that he’s the father of five and recently lost his son Mason. For his act, he was suspended 140 feet in the air and had one minute to escape from a locked mailbag in a wooden box before it automatically fell. Danny ZZZZ made the audience think he didn’t escape, but after the box fell he was still suspended in the air. The judges all gave him a yes, he will continue on in the competition.

The Most Unique Acts of The Night

On top of the show stopping acts came the most unique acts of the night, Diako Diaby, and Hunter and Lillian. Although these acts were very different, they gave off the most unique vibes of the night. Hunter and Lillian are a grandmother and grandson stunt performer duo. In their performance they rode a motorcycle through 5 walls of fire. Before the act began, Pastrana explained that the wet environment could pose a risk in their act since the tires might not be able to grab grip well. The audience and judges were concerned with the wet ground mostly since Lillian was on the back of the motorcycle. Hunter and Lillian succeeded even with the wet ground, they will continue on in the compeition.

Diako Diaby was by far one of the most impressive acts of the night. The Paris, France native took to the stage as a professional inline skater. Before the audition he shared that he’s one of three people in the world who can do a certain trick in the routine. Judges were impressed when they found out that Diako only practices at competitions. I really thought Pastrana was going to hit his Golden Buzzer for this act. He was really impressed with the fact that Diako did the tough trick last when he was exhausted. This contestant will continue on in the competition.

The last audition group was Alfredo Silva’s cage rider group. Even though AGT released this audition early, it was just as exciting. During the audition, Silva stands in the middle of the cage, while other group members ride around him. Later, the AGT alum returned to the cage with his motorcycle. Crews shared that Alfredo is the definition of what this show is.

The cage riders were the perfect finish to the end of this super extreme episode. All of the acts from this episode will be continuing onto the next round of the competition. AGT Extreme will continue with more auditions next Monday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
