‘AGT’ Alum Lindsey Stirling Talks Album Inspirations, Performs “Joy To The World”
Reading Time: 2 minutes
Pop-violin sensation Lindsey Stirling recently revealed the inspiration behind her newest album, Snow Waltz. She also shared how important it is to break loose from one’s comfort zone.
Lindsey Stirling Fused Two Holidays in Snow Waltz
In her recent appearance in The Kelly Clarkson Show, Stirling explained how she came up with the vibe of Snow Waltz. Apparently, this Christmas album was intentionally blended with eerie musicality to hint a mood of Halloween.
“I put a little bit of spookiness into it,” she said. “‘Cause I’m a big fan of The Nightmare Before Christmas as well as Harry Potter which I feel like marries a little bit of that magic and spooky.”
While Stirling continues to explore her violin skills, it is vital for her to try other things. With that, the America’s Got Talent alum is now learning aerial trapeze. Acrobatics would be an incredible inclusion to her future performances.
“I just feel like it’s so important to kind of keep learning, especially as adults. So often we just get so set in our comfort zone,” she said. “It’s really uncomfortable being bad at things and so I like to kind of put myself into the student mode quite a bit.”
Upon hearing Stirling’s mentality, the daytime talk show host affirmed the same. She further said that losing purpose is almost similar as dying, although it might not be actual death.
She Performs Her Focus Track “Joy To The World”
The dancing violinist didn’t leave the show without performing one of her focus tracks in Snow Waltz. Stirling gracefully showcased her talent by playing and moving to “Joy To The World.”
The complexity of her musical arrangement was clear in the performance and there was still a huge Christmas feel surrounding the tune. Additionally, her take on the song’s rhythms gives out an exciting sound, a quick scale shift from major to minor.
Snow Waltz was released on October 7, and its vinyl format will be available on November 18. Currently, Stirling is gearing up for a Christmas tour which will kick off on November 17 in Grand Prairie, Texas and will end on December 23 in Los Angeles, California.
