“The Comeback Stage” Week 6 Recap: The Final Battle

Comeback Stage Lynnea v EleNBC

Reading Time: 3 minutes

It’s the last week of Battles for Team Kelsea on The Voice‘s digital companion show, “The Comeback Stage!” That means Lynnea Moorer and Ele Ivory are going head-to-head. With Ayanna Joni and Wyatt Rivers already through to the next round, who will be the last to join them? And who will eventually join the Live Shows?

Let’s see who gets one step closer in this week’s episode of “The Comeback Stage.”

Lynnea Moorer vs. Ele Ivory

For the last Battle, fifth coach Kelsea Ballerini paired together my two favorite artists from “The Comeback Stage,” Lynnea and Ele. I honestly think these two should’ve been the last ones standing! They’re both “developed, incredible artists” according to Kelsea. And I agree! Especially compared to the other artists on this series. I already knew I wouldn’t like how this would end.

Lynnea sang “My My My!” by Troye Sivan for her Battle. The song is a perfect fit for her voice and tone. She also adds some awesome little runs to it! Lynnea doesn’t do too much, but she makes songs her own in small ways. For such a young artist, this is really impressive. Lynnea just chose the wrong song for her Blind Audition and this proved that. With this performance, I would’ve been shocked if she hadn’t turned a chair.

Next, Ele decided to sing “Back to You” by Selena Gomez. While her broken down, piano accompanied version was interesting to listen to, I thought her song choice could’ve been better. However, it is a definite improvement from her Blind Audition! And she honestly has such a cool voice. I thought she was the better singer here! The dynamics in her performance alone make her a force to be reckoned with. Add on that range and tone and woah! I could see her making a name for herself on The Voice.

But from the feedback, you could tell which way this was going. In the end, Kelsea chose…Lynnea Moorer as the winner of this Battle! I get it from these performances, but I would’ve loved to see Ele move on. She just had such an amazing, unique tone and way of putting her own spin on songs.

What’s Next?

Now that we have the three Battles winners, Ayanna Joni, Wyatt Rivers, and Lynnea Moorer, we move on to the Knockouts! On “The Comeback Stage,” that means we’ll take three down to two. So one of these artists will go home next week. Then, the final two artists will compete during the Live Playoffs. From the overnight voting, one winner will join the Top 13 on the team of their choice!

At this point, I think Lynnea is the one to beat. I would be surprised if we see anyone but Wyatt go home next week, at least from their performances so far. Again, ideally my final two would have been Lynnea and Ele but here we are. So we’ll be back next week for “The Comeback Stage” Knockouts!
