Has Simon Cowell’s replacement on the Britain’s Got Talent panel for Series 20 been decided? A new report claims that English TV presenter Bradley Walsh will sit in Cowell’s chair while the judge recovers from surgery.
Who Is Replacing Simon Cowell on BGT?
Simon Cowell recently underwent surgery on his back, and he had to miss several America’s Got Talent live shows while recovering. It was also reported that the music mogul will have to sit out several audition episodes of the new Britain’s Got Talent season.
The show’s production company Fremantle was reportedly looking for a male comedian to replace Cowell as a guest judge on the panel. According to a new report from The Sun, Bradley Walsh will take Cowell’s place for the auditions. Walsh is the host of a British game show called The Chase, and he also played the character of Graham O’Brien on Doctor Who.
“Bradley will be a brilliant stand in for Simon and will offer an old school performer flavor, which will complement the rest of the cast nicely,” a source told the outlet. “He’s full of wise cracks and great one liners so should have the audience in stitches.”
Other stars who were apparently considered for the guest judge spot (alongside returning judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and KSI) were Lee Mack and Greg Davies. Walsh’s involvement has yet to officially be confirmed by the show.
Simon Cowell had to miss the live shows for America’s Got Talent Season 21, which recently wrapped up. There were a few guest judges who filled in for Cowell on the panel, including Saturday Night Live star Kenan Thompson.
Former AGT judge Heidi Klum also appeared on the panel for one episode. Then for the finale last week, BGT judge KSI sat in Cowell’s chair to share his thoughts on the Top 10 acts before America voted for Nene Royal to be crowned the winner.
