The Voice Season 30 returned on Monday night for another episode of Blind Auditions, beginning with an artist who turned all four coaches’ chairs almost immediately. Coach Riley Green also used his “First In” button in this week’s show.
The Voice Artist Turns Four Chairs Almost Instantly
The first audition of Monday’s episode of The Voice came from Cade Mower, who sang “Something in the Orange” by Zach Bryan. Not only did all four coaches turn their chairs for Cade’s performance, but they did so almost immediately after he started singing.
Cade finished the song for the coaches, who proceeded to share their pitches for why Cade should join their team. Queen Latifah joked that his voice caused her to make ugly faces, telling him, “You can take this whole thing.” Kelly Clarkson argued that she knows how to “navigate a competition.”
However, Cade ultimately chose to go the country route by picking Riley Green’s team. At the end of the show, another artist named Chari inspired a four-chair turn, with the coaches pressing their buttons one after the other early on in her performance of “Get Here” by Oleta Adams.
Adam Levine predicted that Chari could win the entire show with her voice. Queen Latifah made a pun inspired by Chari’s medical background by saying her voice had “surgical precision.” The singer ultimately chose to join Latifah’s team.
Riley Green Uses ‘First In’ Button for Young Singer
Another standout Blind Audition from Monday’s new episode of The Voice Season 30 came from 15-year-old Allie Rae, who performed “Black Velvet” by Alannah Miles. Riley Green, Kelly Clarkson, and Queen Latifah all turned their chairs for her.
Clarkson pointed out that she’s won the show with young female country artists in the past. However, she didn’t end up getting Allie on her team, because Green chose to press the “First In” button. As the first one to turn around for Allie’s audition, he was able to claim her for his team.
Another artist who had the coaches fighting to get him on their team was Bryan James, who sang “Every Time You Go Away” by Paul Young. The coaches were shocked by how much deeper his speaking voice was than his singing voice. Levine, Latifah, and Riley all wanted him on their teams, but he chose to go with Team Queen.
Iranian singer Saade also wowed with her cover of “Oscar Winning Tears” by RAYE. Clarkson, Latifah, and Green all turned their chairs, with Clarkson saying she “crushed” the “demanding song.” Saade chose to join Team Kelly.
Artist Shocks Kelly Clarkson by Choosing Her
Another artist who stood out this week on The Voice was Anna McElroy, who turned three chairs (Clarkson, Latifah, and Green) with her cover of “80s Mercedes” by Maren Morris. Clarkson stood in front of Green’s chair when he turned around, expecting Anna to be charmed by the country star.
“I can win with you,” Clarkson told the singer in her pitch. Anna apparently believed her, because she chose to join Team Kelly, which totally shocked the coach — who figured she would gravitate toward Green’s country roots.
Other impressive auditions from Monday’s episode included Connor Closs’ cover of “Too Sweet” by Hozier, and Julia Clark’s rendition of “Bellyache” by Billie Eilish. Both artists turned two coaches’ chairs and chose to join Team Adam.
