Don’t expect to see Full House star John Stamos in the Season 35 cast of Dancing with the Stars — or any season after that. Although he’s regularly asked to participate, Stamos insists that he’ll never join the ballroom competition.
John Stamos Won’t Join Dancing with the Stars
John Stamos was recently a guest on “The Bobbycast” podcast, hosted by DWTS Season 27 winner Bobby Bones. During their conversation, Stamos admitted that he has been asked to join the show’s cast “every single season,” but he’ll “never” do it.
“What makes that show good is people suffering and looking like fools,” Stamos explained. “They’re breaking their feet, calluses. I don’t want that … I said, ‘Don’t ever ask me again.’ I’m never gonna do that show.”
Bones tried to convince Stamos that participating in the show would be a good experience, telling the actor that he would “learn so much.” Stamos fired back by criticizing Bones’ controversial win, arguing that his Fuller House co-star Juan Pablo Di Pace should have received the Mirrorball trophy.
“Oh my God, that was an upset,” Stamos recalled. “That kid, he got 10s all across and then some jackass came in and beat him. That’s you? Oh my God, I’m done with this podcast.”

Stamos Has Refused the Show for Years
John Stamos has made his position on Dancing with the Stars known for many years now. Back in 2010, People reported that Stamos tweeted about not wanting to do the show, writing, “I’m not a dancer. I’d put my foot in my mouth faster than John Mayer.”
At the time, former DWTS pro dancer Karina Smirnoff was hoping to dance with Stamos on the show, saying in an interview, “I have a wish to dance with John Stamos. He could be a great dancer.”
