America’s Got Talent Season 21 returned on Tuesday night for another round of auditions, as judge Mel B pressed the Golden Buzzer for a talented singer named Isaac Atkins. Several other performances also impressed the judges during the show.

Mel B Presses AGT Golden Buzzer for Talented Singer

After two weeks of multiple Golden Buzzers per episode, this week’s new round of auditions only featured one Golden Buzzer, but it was a good one. Singer and Army sergeant Isaac Atkins captivated judge Mel B with his speaking voice before he even started singing.

Isaac went on to deliver a soulful performance of “Beggin'” by Måneskin. Mel wasted no time pressing the Golden Buzzer, saying, “Before anybody else does this, I’m gonna do it.” She told Isaac that his performance had “so much heart and soul.” Isaac is going straight into the live shows.

Another singer who wowed the AGT judges during Tuesday’ show is Bety, a 17-year-old whose unique voice was perfectly suited to a cover of “If the World Was Ending” by JP Saxe which incorporated Spanish lyrics. Judge Howie Mandel compared her to Halsey and Adele, while Simon Cowell said she “absolutely nailed that.” Bety earned four “yes” votes to move on.

Meanwhile, spoken-word poet Kelton Jones incorporated music into his act, singing parts of “Higher Ground” by Stevie Wonder in between verses of his poem “The Riot Wasn’t Plan A.” Cowell called it “very powerful,” while Mandel called him “so much more than just a poet.” He also earned four “yes” votes from the panel.

What Other Acts Impressed the Judges?

Several other acts impressed the AGT judges during Tuesday’s show, including the very first audition of the night. A duo called Sprice Machines showed off their chain reaction machine, which started outside with the help of host Terry Crews. The judges were on the edge of the seats as they watched it work all the way through. Although Mel B wasn’t convinced, the other three judges voted “yes.”

Other impressive acts from Tuesday’s new AGT episode included Korean dance group Come Here, stand-up comedian Cris Sosa, and music group LaRussell’s Crew, all of whom earned four “yes” votes from the judges to move on in the competition.

Another act who made an impression during this week’s show was magic duo Young & Strange, whose dangerous audition involved getting into a box that was then pierced with wooden stakes. The judges were shocked by the performance, with Mel calling it “crazy magic.” Although Cowell found it “a bit annoying,” the other three AGT judges voted “yes” to send the pair through.

The night ended with an audition from Japanese performer Akira, who appeared naked on the stage, covering himself with various objects and making the judges nervous that he would reveal himself. Although Mel buzzed the act, the other three judges were delighted by it, voting him through.
