‘AGT’ Fans Complain About Season 20, Calling It ‘Unwatchable’

Season 20 of America’s Got Talent is currently airing, and fans haven’t been shy about sharing their thoughts on the show. Several recent Reddit threads have showcased complaints from viewers about everything from how many singers are featured this season to the audience reactions.
AGT Fans Complain About Season 20
Recently, a user on the AGT subreddit posted their opinion that the show is “becoming unwatchable” this season. They listed several elements that have been bothering them, including “cringe-worthy audience reactions” and “Simon [Cowell] thinking the most unfunny acts are gut-busting hilarious.”
A number of fans shared their agreement in the comments, with one person writing that they fast-forwarded through parts of the first two episodes before giving up on this season’s auditions. They added that they’ll “give it a try again once the audition phase is over.”
Another recent Reddit thread has the title, “AGT sucks lately.” The poster shared their belief that the show “has become so predictable and lame.” Someone else posted that the AGT audience is “ruining the show for me,” adding that there is “constant screaming for every act.”
Fans have also expressed their frustration with how many singers are auditioning this season, with one user pointing out that “we have so many singing competition shows” already. It is true that half of the Golden Buzzers this season have been singing acts. However, as one commenter wrote, this has been a common complaint about the show for many seasons now.

Fans Already Complained About Mel B
It’s not just the singing acts and audience reactions that have fans complaining about this season. Viewers have also been sharing their annoyance about Mel B’s return to the judging panel. Many complained about her tendency to hit her red buzzer or vote “no” to sending acts through.
One X (formerly Twitter) user wrote, “Get rid of Mel B. She is too picky and even mean in her reactions. A person can say ‘no’ without being a b*tch.” Another fan wrote that the former Scary Spice is “ruining the show.”
Fans have also shared these negative opinions on YouTube, where one viewer commented, “Mel is such a killjoy!” Talent Recap also received a comment saying Mel B “should be fired” from the show, calling her a “terrible judge.”
