America’s Got Talent Season 20 returned on Tuesday night for a new episode of auditions. This week’s show featured not one but two Golden Buzzer acts, with judge Sofia Vergara and host Terry Crews doing the honors.

AGT Continues with Two More Golden Buzzers

Ahead of Tuesday’s show, AGT shared an early release audition from singer Jessica Sanchez, who previously competed on the first season of the show when she was 10 years old. She went on to place second on American Idol. Jessica’s performance of “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone earned a Golden Buzzer from Sofia Vergara.

Tuesday’s episode also featured a country music group called The BoykinZ, made up of four sisters. They performed an original song called “Fell in Love with a Cowboy.” They even incorporated synchronized choreography into the performance.

Mel B loved the audition, standing up before the women were even done singing. Host Terry Crews was also impressed, saying from backstage that the group was like “the Supremes meets country.” The rest of the judges followed Mel B’s lead to give them a standing ovation, with Simon Cowell predicting that they’ll be stars.

There are only a few Golden Buzzers left to use this season, so the judges weren’t sure what to do when the audience started chanting for one. Judge Howie Mandel seemed to be considering doing the honors, but Crews eventually stepped in to do it instead. The BoykinZ are headed straight to the live shows.

Singer Anna Wilson Auditions Unexpectedly

Tuesday’s episode also featured an unexpected audition from 21-year-old singer Anna Wilson, who had no idea she would even be performing on the AGT stage. She thought she was just an audience member, until her mom walked out on stage and announced that she had signed Anna up for the show.

Simon Cowell suggested that Anna should go backstage and prepare for her performance, as she was quite emotional over the surprise. She decided to sing “Make You Feel My Love,” which she always dedicates to her mom.

Part of the way through the performance, Cowell stopped her and said he thought the song choice was “a bit boring.” So Anna opted to sing her second song choice, “My Church” by Maren Morris. She showed off a powerful voice that impressed (most of) the judges.

Unfortunately, Mel B said she “wasn’t really feeling it” and voted “no” to sending her through. However, the other three judges liked Anna’s audition enough to send her through in the competition.

83-Year-Old Comedian Makes the Judges Laugh

Another memorable audition from Tuesday night’s show came from 83-year-old comedian Sandra Risser, who shared that after she retired, she decided to pursue her dream of performing. Sandra wants to be the first comedian to win AGT.

Sandra delivered a hilarious stand-up comedy routine that was supposedly all about “shopping,” but it was actually about more risqué subject matter. Sofia Vergara called her “a genius,” saying her “sense of humor is spectacular.”

Howie Mandel said he thinks Sandra has a shot to win the entire season. All four judges voted “yes” to sending Sandra through in the competition. As Vergara said when she walked off the stage, “I want to be her when I grow up.”
