Meet ‘AGT’ Golden Buzzer Country Group The BoykinZ

America’s Got Talent is officially back! Now that AGT is back for its 20th season on NBC, there’s been a huge twist to the show itself. Instead of 4 or 5 Golden Buzzers, this season will feature 9. Country quartet The BoykinZ is among the recipients of the season.
Who is Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzer Recipient The BoykinZ?
It’s no secret that America’s Got Talent fans love a good sister singing group. Terry Crews is apart of that clientele that loves a country group, since he gave one of his Golden Buzzers to group, The BoykinZ. Here’s everything you need to know about them.
The BoykinZ is comprised of sisters, Kylan, Anale, Nytere, and Alona. The group is heavily inspired by country music and has their roots deep in “the heart of the American South.”
The group, hailing from the suburbs of Atlanta have brought in over 80 million views and half a million followers on TikTok. As of writing they currently have 124K followers on Instagram, and 14K subscribers on YouTube.
According to the group’s website, The BoykinZ began their unique country music brand to social media in 2022. Their social media journey’s highest point to date was Entertainment Tonight calling The BoykinZ “The youngest stars in country music’s black female revolution.”
The BoykinZ Were Invited on Stage, Tour With Shania Twain
During the 2023 CMT Awards, The BoykinZ shared the stage with Shania Twain. Twain had originally met the sister group while on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“I invited them to do a little acapella piece with me tonight, just as part of my exchange of supporting upcoming young female artists, people that might, in this day and age, be excluded,” Twain told People.
At the time, Twain was discussing how she wants to see more diversity in the Country Music genre. For her Queen of Me Tour, Twain invited various other diverse performers on tour with her. The BoykinZ reportedly appeared with Twain on the Nashville stop on the tour.
In August 2023, The BoykinZ became the first signed country artist under a recording deal with Quality Control Music/Hybe. They have since released music on all streaming platforms.
