Reading Time: 2 minutes
Comedian and Katy Perry’s ex husband, Russell Brand, is facing another accusation of sexual assault. This time, the alleged assault occurred while filming the movie Arthur, in July 2010. The new lawsuit reveals the allegations, made by an individual referred to as Jane Doe.
Russell Brand is Hit With a New Sexual Assault Lawsuit
According to the lawsuit, Jane Doe alleges that Brand appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and had a bottle of vodka with him on the movie set. The lawsuit alleges that Brand exposed himself in front of the cast and crew, constituting a deeply disturbing incident.
The most concerning part of the accusation is the claim that the sexual assault took place in a bathroom the same day. Jane Doe reported that Brand entered the bathroom after her, while a crew member guarded the door from the outside.
This left her in a vulnerable and distressing situation. The lawsuit highlights that the assault has had a lasting impact on the complainant. It caused Jane Doe extreme embarrassment, shame, and fear.
In addition to Brand, several production companies involved in the making of Arthur are named as defendants in the lawsuit, including Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Discovery, MBST Entertainment, BenderSpink, and Langley Park Pictures.
Brand Responded to The Previous Allegations Against Him in a YouTube Video
This isn’t the first time that Brand has faced allegations of this nature. In September, four women accused him of rape, sexual assaults, and emotional abuse for incidents that allegedly occurred between 2006 and 2013.
“As I’ve written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous, now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely always consensual.” Brand said. “I was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I’m being transparent about it now as well now.
These accusations came to light after a joint investigation by the Sunday Times of London and Channel 4’s documentary team Dispatches. Brand responded with a video titled So, This Is Happening, in which he vehemently denied the allegations and referred to them as “astonishing” and “baroque.”
