Musa Motha Earns First BGT Group Golden Buzzer

Musa told the judges that he’s originally from South Africa, but he recently moved to London. He shared that he was diagnosed with cancer at a young age, which led to his amputation. Musa ended up becoming interested in dance when he asked his friends to teach him.

He went on to deliver an incredible dance routine, using his crutches to hold himself up as he moved to the sound of “Runnin’ (Lose It All)” by Naughty Boy, featuring Beyoncé and Arrow Benjamin. The performance brought judge Bruno Tonioli to tears and inspired a standing ovation from the entire panel.

The audience was also wowed by Musa’s performance, as they chanted for the judges to hit the Golden Buzzer. They reminded the crowd that all the Golden Buzzers had been used up for the season, ignoring the fact that both Tonioli and Simon Cowell hit it twice.

When the crowd’s chanting got so loud they couldn’t even share their thoughts, the panel decided to join forces with hosts Ant and Dec to hit BGT‘s first ever group Golden Buzzer, sending Musa straight to the Semifinals.

Musa Is Going to the Series 16 Grand Final

On Monday, Britain’s Got Talent aired the first round of the Series 16 Semifinals, as Musa Motha took the stage once again for his chance to make it into the finale. Musa delivered another incredible routine, this time set to “Where We Come Alive” by Ruelle.

He was accompanied on stage by several backup dancers. At one point, two of them lifted Musa into the air. The performance earned a standing ovation from the judges, as the crowd went wild with cheers and applause. Amanda Holden called it “so epic,” while Alesha Dixon described Musa as “the one to beat.”

When the results were revealed, Musa and singer Amy Lou were announced as the first two acts to go to the BGT Grand Final thanks to the public’s vote. They’ll perform next Sunday for their final chance to win the show.
