New coach Chance the Rapper admitted he wasn’t familiar with a country song during a funny moment during Tuesday night’s new episode of The Voice. The admission came after Al Boogie auditioned to Travis Tritt’s “T-R-O-U-B-L-E.”

As Al Boogie performed, coaches Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton could be seen mouthing along to the lyrics. Unfortunately, none of the four coaches chose to turn around for the singer’s audition. However, they praised his song choice.

Shelton said he and Clarkson were “geeking out” over the song, adding that it “defined my junior year of high school.” Clarkson chimed in to say that Travis Tritt is “literally one of my favorite singers ever.”

When it came time for Chance to share his thoughts, he admitted, “I’ve never heard that song, ever, ever. Like, not once. I’ve never been anywhere where that song was playing. And I think it’s so funny that all you guys know that song so well.”

The coaches and audience got a kick out of Chance’s remarks, as Al joked he was “most shocked” that the rapper didn’t turn. Chance said he thought it was an “unreleased Blake Shelton and Kelly song.”

Fans Liked Chance’s Honesty

Several commenters on YouTube shared their appreciation for Chance’s admission that he didn’t know the song. As one fan wrote, “I love how Chance is so honest.” Another wrote of the coach, “He speaks and reacts with no facades.”

Another fan wrote, “Chance is such a cutie with his response here! So fun! I love this panel of judges together!!!” Someone else responded, “I was just thinking the same thing. He is just so kind and down to earth. Love this panel of judges too.”

This season of The Voice features new coaches Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan, as well as the return of Kelly Clarkson after she took Season 22 off. Longtime coach Blake Shelton also announced last year that this will be his final season on the show.

He hasn’t known “alot” of the songs not just country__ for that reason he doesn’t belong on show. Kinda like trump, no experience, wasn’t up to the job at all.
