The Brown Brothers, aka Gabe and Nate, are going to the live shows on America’s Got Talent Season 17. The duo wowed the judges with their act, which combines music and impressions. Now it’s up to America to vote for them.
The Brown Brothers Combine Music and Impressions
According to their AGT bio, Gabriel and Nathanael Brown are both Navy veterans who have been making music since they were 12 and 10, respectively. Nate is a songwriter and music producer who plays multiple instruments, while Gabe has a YouTube channel where he sings and does impressions.
The brothers shared in their audition that they both have autism, which makes socializing difficult. Nate said that Gabe is “more extroverted, so I let him do the talking.” Gabe said they want to “be a voice for and inspire people like us.”
According to a local news interview, the brothers grew up singing at sporting events, and they performed in a band called Just Passing Through in Nashville for a time. Gabe said AGT producers have been in contact with him about auditioning for four years, but things always fell through. This year, he actually submitted an audition himself.
Gabe posts videos on YouTube under the name Black Gryph0n, where he has over 4 million subscribers. He posts videos impersonating various singers and fictional characters. He also frequently collaborates with Nate, who performs under the name Baasik.

They Impressed the AGT Judges with Their Audition
In their audition, the brothers had each of the judges select a character and a song. Gabe then performed the chosen song in the chosen character’s voice, with Nate backing him up on the keyboard. Gabe said that the show asked him to pair his impressions with music, so he had Nate join him.
“I feel like our best work is when we work together and they really went for that because Simon Cowell really likes family acts and it was also great for me and us,” he told Green Valley News.
In the audition, Gabe sang “Tiny Dancer” as Kermit the Frog and “Photograph” as Donald Duck. He even impersonated Simon Cowell. The judges loved the performance, giving the brothers a standing ovation. Heidi Klum told them, “You gave it your all.”
The Brown Brothers earned four “yes” votes to move on in the competition. You can check out their next performance Tuesday night on NBC.
