“Out of an abundance of caution and to allow the Broadway community the necessary time to focus on performing their shows safely, we have held off on our annual live concert, but rest assured, we are still going to bring you the rock,” Rockers on Broadway’s Donnie Kehr and Cori Gardner in a statement.
The new album features Maroulis performing “No Rain” by Blind Melon. He sang the track during a Rockers on Broadway virtual concert in 2020. The album also includes Alex Brightman and Michael Cerveris performing “Under Pressure” and Micky Dolenz of the Monkees singing “I’m a Believer.”
Maroulis can call himself both a rocker and a Broadway star. He received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in Rock of Ages. He also starred in the musical Jekyll & Hyde, receiving a Drama League Award nomination. The singer has also released three studio albums, including the 2020 project Until I’m Wanted.
