On Tuesday night, The Voice Season 21 returned for its first live results show of the season, as we learned which artists made it through after Monday’s Live Playoffs episode.

The top two artists from each team based on America’s votes automatically advanced. The coaches were then allowed to save one of their remaining artists. Of the two artists left on each team, the one with the most votes was put up for a Wildcard Instant Save vote.

Joining those four artists in the live vote was an eliminated contestant from last week’s Comeback Vote. Each of these singers performed for a chance to stay in the competition.

It was hard for the coaches to say goodbye to members of their teams. Ariana Grande was particularly upset, as she actually broke down in tears while making her decision for which artist to save. She told them all that she’ll continue to be a mentor for them even if they go.

Which Artists Made It Through to the Top 13?

On Team Kelly, America voted to save Girl Named Tom and Jeremy Rosado. Kelly Clarkson then chose to save Gymani. Hailey Mia was up for the Instant Save, meaning Katie Rae was eliminated.

On Team Legend, America voted to save Jershika Maple and Joshua Vacanti. John Legend then chose to save Shadale. Samuel Harness was up for the Instant Save, meaning David Vogel was eliminated.

On Team Ariana, America voted to save Jim and Sasha Allen and Holly Forbes. Ariana Grande chose to save Ryleigh Plank. Bella DeNapoli was up for the Instant Save, meaning Raquel Trinidad was eliminated.

On Team Blake, America voted to save Wendy Moten and Paris Winningham. Blake Shelton chose to save Lana Scott. Peedy Chavis was up for the Instant Save, meaning Libianca was eliminated.

Who Won the Wildcard Instant Save?

Hailey Mia, Samuel Harness, Bella DeNapoli, and Peedy Chavis were joined in the Wildcard Instant Save vote by the winner of last week’s Comeback Vote. That winner was Vaughn Mugol, who was previously a member of Team Ariana.

Viewers had a window to vote during the show. At the end of the night, host Carson Daly announced that Hailey Mia received the most votes, meaning she’ll join the Top 13. Her performance of “Jar of Hearts” by Christina Perri had Clarkson saying she was “built for a show like this.”

Hailey’s performance on Monday was also one of the strongest, so it was surprising to see her so close to elimination. Even Clarkson said she was “completely shocked.” Let us know in the comments if you agree with Tuesday’s results.
