Miley Cyrus, Maren Morris Tease ‘Dancing Queen’ Performance During Pride Concert

Peacock YouTube

Reading Time: 2 minutes

NBC’s Peacock Network released a teaser trailer of Miley Cyrus and Maren Morris performing ‘Dancing Queen’ for the Stand By You Pride Concert and we cannot wait to see what else is in store. The one-hour special premieres Friday and will feature some of Cyrus’ biggest hits and covers.

Morris and Cyrus are some of the biggest names in country music and their duet is perfection. This collab is long overdue and fills us with happy hippie 70s vibes. If the ‘Dancing Queen’ cover is just a glimpse into the amazing performances in-store, I won’t be missing a minute of the event.

The special will air on NBC’s streaming platform, which is also the new home of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, a show that has pioneered LGBTQ+ content to the mainstream. Cyrus even guest judged the Season 11 premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race (talk about coming full circle!)

Pride Month is celebrated in the U.S. and across the world in a number of traditions. It all started in New York City back in 1969 after authorities raided The Stonewall Inn, a gay club and now historically recognized landmark. The Stonewall Riots ignited the progress in activism toward the LGBTQ+ community that still occurs today.

Identifying as a queer artist, Cyrus has been, and continues to be, a huge advocate for gay rights and liberation. In 2014 Cyrus created the Happy Hippie Foundation. The non-profit organization is dedicated to rallying young people to fight homelessness among LGBTQ+ youth and other vulnerable populations. Back in 2014, the artist also donated $500,000 to AIDS research at the amfAR inspiration gala in Los Angeles.

Cyrus has openly discussed her sexuality in interviews and through her music. She also openly features LGBTQ+ performers and drag queens in her live shows, bringing the love in with every performance.

“My heart continues to beat for this community 11 years later! I will never give up on the fight for justice, equality & acceptance for everyone!” Cyrus tweeted.

Friday’s performance is also set to feature guest stars like Brother’s Osbourne, Mickey Guyton, Little Big Town, and Orville Peck. Star-studded performances, classic Miley Cyrus hits, and the joy surrounding pride, what could be better? Let’s all stand by one another as we sing our hearts out during Stand By You.
