Susan Boyle made history 10 years ago when she appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. It went viral all over the world. Now the Scottish singer is returning to the Got Talent stage in AGT: Champions

I think all of us remember the moment. Susan, a middle-aged woman from Scotland, took the stage on BGT. Simon, famously, rolled his eyes and made a face. It was typical old school Simon…being kind of a jerk. Then she opened her mouth and sang I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables. Simon quickly changed his facial expression. He later said he felt bad about judging her from her looks. Susan went on to sell a boatload of records. She also came in second on BGT. She’s a good example of someone who doesn’t win but is really successful.

So, it wasn’t a surprise when Susan was asked to come on America’s Got Talent: Champions. When you look at the entire history of the 40 million Got Talents, Susan is up there with the biggest stars to come out of the show. But why did she decide to do the show? She said,

“(I’m) a champion for those who don’t have the confidence to do things and don’t have a voice; the ones people tend to ignore. I feel like I’m a champion for them. I couldn’t possibly walk away from a second chance to prove myself. I’m really looking forward to singing – this time, with something to prove.”

Aw. That is the story of Susan’s success. She shows that a person who doesn’t immediately seem marketable, can be. Even Simon, the God of Talent Shows, can be wrong at first look. On AGT: Champions, the past luminaries will compete to see who is the ultimate Got Talent star. Could it be Susan? I wouldn’t be surprised.
