International pop boy band, 98 degrees, brought the heat to fans this Summer. This year, the iconic group delivered a new remix playlist titled Summer of 98. The EP came part of their 98 Days of Summer campaign, which released on August 20 through UMe. The project features remixes of the band’s most popular hits including “I Do (Cherish You),” “Invisible Man,” “Because of You,” and my personal favorite, “Heat It Up.”

The 98 Degrees Campaign

The 98 Days of Summer campaign launched in June and features a number of treats for fans. The promotion features 98 days of throwback photos, video clips, and unreleased music on the group’s social media channels. On July 9, the band dropped a brand new single called “Where Do You Wanna Go” accompanied by a music video. This was the group’s first single in eight years, and one of the many surprises 98 Degrees had in store for fans.

“We couldn’t be more excited to help share the love we’ve received over the years by remixing our classics and including a new song. We want to reconnect with our fans and return to doing the things they love. Singing, performing, and making music that will set the tone for the summer of 2021,” said Nick Lachey.

98 Degrees also returned to the stage to end the summer with a bang. Tonight, the boy band will perform at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. September 16 also commemorates the 98th day in the group’s campaign. In honor of reaching this milestone, the band has just dropped a new remix to one of their greatest hits. The track is available for streaming now on all digital platforms.

The Success of the Iconic Boy Band

In 1997, the band debuted with their self titled album 98 Degrees. The platinum debut featured the top ten single “Invisible Man.” The following year, their sophomore release 98 Degrees and Rising went platinum five times over and included the classics “Because of You,” “The Hardest Thing,” and the wedding favorite “I Do (Cherish You).”

98 definitely proved to be a lucky number for the group. That year the band released their third album, This Christmas achieving five times platinum status once again. The holiday work spawned the top 40 hit “This Gift.”

In 2000, 98 Degrees dropped their fourth studio album, Revelation. It went two times platinum and featured the hit “Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche),” which became the most added top 40 single in history. The song debuted at number two on the Billboard 100 charts. This became the highest charting single in its debut week by a boy band during that era.
