In general the acts on America’s Got Talent have abilities beyond that of your average human. Whether it’s a beautiful voice or moving like a robot, (I’m convinced Merrick Hanna has no bones). But these four contestants are truly astounding, overcoming expectations and physical limitations.

Oscar Hernandez
As a large guy myself, I can tell you that it isn’t always easy to move your body the way you’d like to. Oscar Hernandez doesn’t care about what people think he can do. He is a big dude and can dance like a 120 pound professional. A lot of it has to do with confidence and attitude. He just does his thing, expectations be damned.

Mandy Harvey
If there is one sense that you need to have highly attuned if you are a singer it’s your hearing…or so you would think. Mandy doesn’t need to hear the music or her voice to give jaw-dropping performances. It would be very easy for someone in her position to just give up, but not Mandy. It’s not just that she sings well for someone who can’t hear, she has an amazing voice regardless. Still, it’s astounding.

Aileen George AKA Ms. Vegas
People make jokes about pole dancing, but that is really hard to do. A good pole dancer who does all kinds of acrobatics and gravity defying stunts is a sight to see. When you add to that being plus-sized like Aileen George, (Ms. Vegas), you have something truly exceptional. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there and show that you can be confident and beautiful no matter what your size is.

Kechi OkwuchiÂ
Kechi survived a horrific plane crash that killed over a hundred other people. It left burns over much of her body and many other injuries. She has reportedly had a hundred surgeries. But she doesn’t let that stop her from following her dreams to be a singer. She’s a judge and fan favorite and might make it all the way to the finale.
