11-Year-Old Mariachi Singer Stuns in ‘AGT’ Early Release Audition

America’s Got Talent has shared another early release audition from this week’s new episode of Season 18, this time featuring 11-year-old Eduardo Antonio Trevino. Eduardo is a mariachi soloist whose incredible voice wowed the judges.
11-Year-Old Mariachi Singer in AGT Early Release
Eduardo told the judges that he’s from Houston and just turned 11 years old. When Sofia Vergara asked if he has an idol in mariachi music, Eduardo named Vicente Fernández. He also shared that his great-grandfather “recorded music in 1926 but soon had to give up the dream.”
For his audition, Eduardo was accompanied by a five-person band who played music while he sang. The young singer showed off a powerhouse voice and a great stage presence. As host Terry Crews said from backstage at one point, “The boy is a star!”
The judges couldn’t stop smiling as Eduardo performed. When he was done singing, Heidi Klum gave him a standing ovation. She told him, “I love your voice. I love how long you can drag out those notes. It’s amazing. And every note you hit, it’s just perfect. I loved it.”

Did the Judges Send Eduardo Through?
After his performance, Vergara told Eduardo, “You are amazing — your presence, your smile, your personality.” Meanwhile, Simon Cowell said, “I absolutely loved this audition, and I love you.” He added that Eduardo has “a natural talent.”
Howie Mandel admitted, “I know nothing about mariachi music.” That prompted Vergara to ask, “I mean, how not? You live in Los Angeles.” The audience applauded the remark. Even though Mandel was unfamiliar with the genre of music, he said he “really enjoyed it.”
