Classical crossover singer Jackie Evancho gained broad recognition with her impressive run on America’s Got Talent season five. In 2010, Evancho appeared on television as an adorable 10-year-old, showing off her angelic vocals. Over a decade later, she continues to grow a promising music career.
Jackie Evancho Released 3 Singles This Year
In 2023, Jackie Evancho returned to music with a bang. Her comeback all began in early June, when Evancho shared that she was working on a single titled “Get Out Of My Life.” Written to get away from perfectionism, the said song is meant to emphasize the importance of mental health. According to Evancho, it is a product of her journey to discover her own voice.
“I’ve been busy in the studio for some time writing and recording new music that, through self discovery and finding my own ‘voice,’ is unlike anything I’ve ever done before,” she wrote.
She dropped the song in July on TikTok and has since been receiving good reviews from her fans. Following this song came the singer’s most recent releases, “Behind My Eyes,” “At least I have Santa,” and “Consequences.”
After a City Winery tour-packed 2022, Evancho welcomed 2023 with plans of widening her horizons. She kicked off the year revealing that music is not the only field she intends to enter but also fashion and painting.Â
In January, she was featured in Harper’s BAZAAR Vietnam, giving a glimpse of her background as a musician. Later that month, she announced that she’s been brushing up on her paintings as a treat to her fans.
She Got Candid About Her Creative Struggles
When she announced about “Get Out Of My Life,” Evancho also went honest about her musical journey. In a video she posted on Instagram, she shared that she’s been struggling with being a perfectionist.
“Growing up in the industry is a challenge,” she said. “And I know that there are a lot of people out there who have been telling you stories about growing up in the industry but there are still a lot of people out there who think that it’s this charmed life.”
She proceeded to admit that there are indeed “wonderful things” about that challenge. Nonetheless, she said that “the need to be perfect” is still a very personal issue on her part.Â
“Because growing up, all I was told was ‘It must be perfect. If it’s not perfect, it’s not worthy of being seen or heard.’ I just disagree with that so much now as a free-thinking adult,” she said.
Now, Evancho is advocating for mental health and self-care through music. Her new singles have really spoken to many of her fans, and they can’t wait to see what else she’ll be releasing in the new year.
