‘The Voice’ Season 15: The Battles, Part 4 Recap
Reading Time: 4 minutes
The last night of Battles on this season of The Voice is upon us! And it came so quickly! This season, there were only three and a half episodes (five hours total) of Battles. Personally I’m sad about it, especially with all the montages. But there is a lot of talent emerging! So that’s definitely a positive.
Let’s take a look at who went head-to-head tonight.

Erika Zade vs. Sarah Grace
The night kicked off with Erika Zade and Sarah Grace on Team Kelly! Kelly chose “No Roots” by Alice Merton for their Battle. Erika brought energy and solid technical vocals. But there’s something about Sarah’s stank face and presence that can’t be matched. And (not to be that guy) but she’s only 15! The pair also had some crazy harmonies. This was definitely a great song choice, because they both got to showcase a lot in it. It’s honestly right up their alley! The coaches enjoyed both artists but seemed to agree that Sarah Grace was the star here. When it came to Kelly’s choice, she picked Sarah.

Kameron Marlowe vs. Kayley Hill
This was a Battle pairing that made me sad when I saw it come up, because Blake was the only coach with a steal left so I knew one of these two was going to go home. I’m a fan of both of them from their Blind Auditions! Blake chose “Only Wanna Be With You” by Hootie & the Blowfish for Kameron and Kayley. The song was perfect for their voices! They were able to do an awesome, unique arrangement of it too. In the rehearsal, Kameron suggested that he sing without his guitar. And this made all the difference! After their performance, the coaches all pointed out that Kameron was more free to sing the song without a guitar. While Kayley stood next to him with a guitar in her hands. Ouch. Though Kelly said she thought Kayley deserved the win, Blake ended up going with Kameron on this one.

Montages (Claire DeJean vs. Josh Davis, Kirk Jay vs. Caeland Garner, Kennedy Holmes vs. Lela)
The full-on montages are back this week! And to be honest, I’m shocked that both Kirk Jay and Kennedy Holmes, two four-chair turners, were montaged. They were two of the most talked about contestants from the Blinds! What is going on here? I liked Claire DeJean a lot too so I was bummed we only got a snippet of her performance. There’s not much to say about these performances. Claire and Josh sang “All This Love” by JP Cooper and Kelly picked Claire for the win. Next up was Kirk Jay and Caeland singing David Nail’s “Let It Rain.” I had never heard this song but they sounded nice! Blake chose Kirk to move on to the Knockouts. Finally, we had Kennedy and Lela singing “Battlefield” by Jordin Sparks. Kennedy sounded amazing but Lela was way too animated in her performance. Kennedy easily took this win on Team JHud.

DeAndre Nico vs. Funsho
The last Battle of the season was between DeAndre Nico and Funsho on Team Adam. Adam chose “Can You Stand the Rain” by New Edition for the pair. Even from the rehearsal, you could tell this was an amazing song choice. Adam’s Battle advisor CeeLo Green was feeling it too! Before their performance even started, Jennifer says, “I’m going to enjoy this.” So we all know how this goes!
Their performance was soulful and smooth. They both showed off some crazy runs and harmonies, making one of the best Battles of the season, as Adam claimed. Kelly and JHud both express that they’re disappointed they don’t have a steal. (Could one be coming? Considering it’s the last Battle, almost for sure. But stay tuned!) Then Blake admits he doesn’t know how to pronounce Funsho and straight up says it wrong. If you didn’t watch and you’re wondering, it’s Foon-show, not Fun-show. Anyway, Adam went with DeAndre Nico and…you guessed it! Blake stole Funsho.
