‘The Voice’ Season 27 Battles Wrap Up with Two More Steals by the Coaches

Reading Time: 3 minutes
The Voice Season 27 returned Monday night for the final round of Battles. Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini were the last two coaches with steals left for this season, and they finally used them up during this episode.
Michael Bublé Steals Kelsea Ballerini’s Artist in The Voice Battle
The first Battle of the night was on Kelsea Ballerini’s team, between 19-year-old Iris Herrera and 20-year-old Simone Marijic. The pair performed a duet of “Ceilings” by Lizzy McAlpine. Iris earned three chair turns from the coaches in her Blind Audition, after trying out unsuccessfully in Season 26. Simone earned two chair turns.
For their Battle, both singers showed off incredible vocal talent, letting the song build in power as it went on. After the performance, coach Michael Bublé commented on what a great song choice it was on Ballerini’s part, saying they both sang “so beautifully.”
Adam Levine said he regretted not turning for either singer in the Blind Auditions, but he said he would choose Iris as the winner. Ballerini said that they’re “both so talented” and jokingly called herself their “older sister by 10 years.”
She ultimately chose Iris as the winner of the Battle, sending her to the Knockouts on her team. However, it wasn’t the end of he road for Simone, because Bublé hit his button to steal her for his own team at the last second. He called her a “dark horse” to possibly win the show this season.

Ballerini held off on using her steal until the very last Battle of the season, between Adam Levine’s artists — 28-year-old Conor James and 50-year-old Tinika Wyatt. They performed “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees. Conor was a four-chair turn in his Blind Audition, while Tinika only turned Levine’s chair, receiving his Coach Replay for the season.
Both singers delivered soulful performances that showed off their impressive range and lively stage presence. It felt more like a proper duet than a Battle. The coaches gave them a standing ovation, and Ballerini said it “might have been my favorite Battle.” She pointed out how joyful they both are as performers.
Levine said it was a hard decision for him to make, explaining, “I don’t want to be without either one of you guys.” He called Tinika “a world-class singer,” while he predicted that Conor “could go all the way” this season.
Ultimately, Levine chose to Conor as the winner of the Battle, sending him to the Knockouts on his team. He said that Conor has “a unicorn quality” as a singer. However, Tinika got a second chance once again, as Ballerini hit her button to steal her for her own team, saying she “adds a level of soul to Team Kelsea.”
American Idol Alum Reunites with Cynthia Erivo
Fans might recognize this season’s Team Bublé artist Dimitrius Graham from his time on American Idol Season 17, when he made it into the Top 10. The 33-year-old turned two chairs in his Blind Audition, ultimately choosing to join Michael Bublé’s team.
For his Battle, Dimitrius was paired with 34-year-old Divighn, who also turned two chairs in his audition. They performed “Leave the Door Open” by Silk Sonic. Before their performance, they got to work with Bublé and his celebrity guest mentor Cynthia Erivo.
It was a reunion for Dimitrius and Erivo, who met a long time ago while Dimitrius was gigging in Los Angeles. He said that he was “in a super dark place,” having a hard time “loving myself” and “accepting my sexuality.” He shared that communicating with Erivo “really saved my life.”
Dimitrius and Divighn delivered a great Battle, introducing themselves as “Double Ds.” Their voices blended well together, but Bublé could only choose one as the winner. He went with Divighn, meaning Dimitrius was unfortunately eliminated.
