Looping Artist Blows The Coaches Minds On ‘The Voice Russia’ [VIDEO]
Philip Lebedev performed one of the most unique auditions ever on The Voice Russia. The 29-year-old used looping technology to create an epic beat, and also flexed his awesome singing talent. Take a look at this exciting 2019 Blind Audition below.
Philip Lebedev Showed Off Looping Skills On ‘The Voice Russia’
Philip first started off the audition beatboxing into the microphone. The coaches were all curious about what was going on up on stage. He used a loop station to create a continuous beat, overlapping the sounds. The coaches finally realized he was using a looper to create his own sound. He began singing “Beggin'” by Madcon as his self-made beat played in the background.
Polina Gagarina and Sergey Shnurov turned their chairs at the exact same time. Valery Syutkin was next to turn his chair. After the performance, the audience was cheering for Philip and were clearly fans of his looping artistry. The coaches were floored by his performance. They pointed out how much of a risk it was for Philip not to use the live band and create the music himself. The risk obviously paid off.
He chose to be on Team Sergey because even though he uses a hip-hop gadget to perform, his heart will always be with rock n’ roll music. In The Battles, Philip sang a mashup of “In The Heat of a Disco Night” and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” against Ragda Khanieva. The performance had a disco theme and even incorporated simple choreography. Sergey chose Ragda as the winner of the Battle. Philip was sent home way too early on in the competition.
Though Philip’s time on The Voice was cut short, he was able to capture the hearts of all of the viewers at home. Check out the compilation below of the 10 hottest male singers on talent shows.
