Who are the Coaches for Season 22?
The newest season of The Voice will see the return of John Legend and Blake Shelton as coaches. Gwen Stefani who has coached on The Voice in the past will also return. First-time coach on the show Camila Cabello is making her debut and is proving to be a great addition to the show already.
This season also features sensational battle advisors which are the perfect matches to guide the coaches. Jimmie Allen will mentor Team Blake, Sean Paul will mentor Team Gwen, Jazmine Sullivan will mentor Team Legend, and Charlie Puth will mentor Team Camila.
What’s New?
There are a few new aspects to the show, but a lot of the beloved rounds have returned to the show. Tonight begins the infamous Blind Auditions, where the decisions from the coaches are based solely on voice and not looks. Also returning this season is the Block which prevents a coach from adding a new artist to his or her team.
Also returning are the ability for the coaches to save and steal singers. Each coach will have one save and one steal during the battle rounds. A losing artist is available to be saved by their own coach, but could potentially choose to go with a different coach.
For the first time, the Knockout Round of the competition will include three-way Knockouts. The artist will be paired against two other teammates but will perform their song individually. The coaches will choose the winner, and the artists not selected will be available to be stolen by another coach.
Once the Live Performance Shows begin, the top artists will compete against each other weekly during a live broadcast. We’re hoping to see the Instant Save return in this round of the competition. Just like years past, fans will be able to vote for their favorite artists each week of the live performances.
