DWTS Couples Miss Out on Perfect Scores
Guest judge Flavor Flav shook up the DWTS panel during Tuesday’s show, awarding exclusively 10s and 9s. Two couples just missed out on perfect scores, with 39 out of 40 — Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy, as well as Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas.
Both couples danced the paso doble. Alix and Val performed to “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi, while Whitney and Mark took on “No More Tears” by Ozzy Osbourne. Alix received three 10s from the permanent judges, while Flavor Flav gave her a 9. For Whitney, it was Carrie Ann Inaba who gave her a lone 9.
Two couples earned scores of 38 during Tuesday’s show — Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, as well as Robert Irwin and Witney Carson. Jordan and Ezra’s jazz routine to “River Deep – Mountain High” by Ike & Tina Turner earned two 10s, from Inaba and Flavor Flav, while Robert and Witney’s paso doble to “Icky Thump” by The White Stripes earned 10s from Flavor Flav and Bruno Tonioli.
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night also delivered two couples their first 10s of the season, both from Flavor Flav. Elaine Hendrix returned from last week’s injury with an elegant Viennese waltz to “What the World Needs Now Is Love” by Dionne Warwick, earning a total score of 37 out of 40. Meanwhile, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach earned a score of 36 for their lively jive to “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John.
The couple at the top of the leaderboard for the first round of Tuesday’s show was awarded immunity for next week’s relay dance. Because Whitney and Alix were tied at the top, the show chose the star with the highest cumulative scores across the entire season. That meant that Whitney and Mark have immunity.

Team Chicago Earns Perfect Score in Second Round
The second round of Tuesday’s DWTS episode featured team dances. Team Chicago (Danielle, Whitney, Jordan, Dylan, and their partners) danced to a live performance of the titular band’s song “25 or 6 to 4,” alongside co-host Alfonso Ribeiro. Tonioli called the dance “so slick” and “so cool.” They earned a perfect score of 40 out of 40.
Next up was Team Kool (Andy, Robert, Alix, Elaine, and their partners), who danced to a live performance of “Celebration” by Kool & the Gang, alongside DWTS co-host Julianne Hough. Judge Derek Hough remarked that Team Chicago was “tighter.” Ultimately, Team Kool received a total score of 38 out of 40.
Tuesday’s DWTS episode also had some amazing group dances, including a routine featuring the pros joining next year’s live tour, set to “Hey Ya!” by Outkast and choreographed by Mandy Moore. The troupe also performed a routine to “I Love L.A.” by Randy Newman in honor of the Dodgers, who just won the World Series.

Who Was Eliminated at the End of the Night?
At the end of Tuesday’s DWTS episode, one couple had to be eliminated according to the judges’ scores, combined with votes from viewers. The three couples who were left in the ballroom after everyone else had been declared safe were Andy Richter and Emma Slater, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov, and Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas.
These weren’t necessarily the bottom three for the night, although Andy and Danielle did receive the lowest scores on the leaderboard. Andy and Emma danced a contemporary to “God Only Knows” by The Beach Boys, earning a 30 out of 40 — including an unexpected 9 from Flavor Flav.
Ultimately, Andy survived to dance another week, as Danielle and Pasha were eliminated. During the episode, they danced a contemporary routine to “Dream On” by Aerosmith, earning a total score of 34 out of 40. Upon learning she was eliminated, Danielle said she had a “life-changing” experience.
